Summer Volunteer Opportunities!
Golf Tournament hosted by Dave Lapham
Monday, June 19 • Shaker Run Golf
Volunteers for must be 16 years old, unless accompanied by a parent.
The annual Golf Tournament is our second largest fundraiser. Money raised from this event helps fuel our mission of empowering individuals, educating families, enhancing communities and together, celebrating the extraordinary lives of people with Down syndrome. We are looking for volunteers to help in three areas (Registration, On the Course and Dinner - see times on registration form). Registration is just that. You'll check-in golfers and then help sell raffle tickets! Volunteers on the course will spend the day soaking up the sun, greeting golfers and running "games" on various holes. Lawn chairs, umbrellas, food and drink are welcome! Dinner volunteers will help facilitate our silent auction, matchbook raffle and live auction during dinner. We hope you will join us!
Believe to Achieve
Saturday, June 24 • Montgomery Inn Boathouse
5 PM - 11 PM
Volunteers for Believe to Achieve must be 18 years old.
This fundraising event is held by the Rotary Club of Cincinnati. Proceeds from the event benefit the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati, Stepping Stones and the Autism Society of Greater Cincinnati. Volunteers are needed to help with registration, raffles, silent auction and more.
iCan Swim Camp
July 17 - 21 • Clippard YMCA
Volunteers for iCan Swim Camp must be 16 years old.
iCan Swim Camp is a program specifically designed and modified for individuals with disabilities to reach their maximum level of independent movement, safety and enjoyment of aquatic environments.You will work alongside swimmers while providing physical and emotional support. We ask that volunteers be comfortable assisting another person in the water. T-shirts, swim shirts, swim shorts and modest bathing suits are all acceptable attire! In order to volunteer for iCan Swim Camp, we ask that volunteers commit to attending the same session all five days of camp (see session times on registration form). This helps the swimmers achieve the best results.
iCan Bike Camp
July 24 - 28 • Mount Saint Joseph University
Volunteers for iCan Swim Camp must be 16 years old.
iCan Bike uses adapted bicycles, a specialized instructional program and trained staff to enable individuals with disabilities to learn to ride a two-wheel bicycle. You will work alongside riders while providing physical and emotional support. We ask that volunteers be comfortable with light jogging and/or running. T-Shirts, gym shorts and gym shoes are all acceptable attire! In order to volunteer for iCan Swim Camp, we ask that volunteers commit to attending the same session all five days of camp (see session times on registration form). This helps the riders achieve the best results.
Sign Language
July 6 - Aug 10 (Thurs Only)
Down Syndrome Association
6:30 - 7:30 PM
Volunteers for must be 16 years old, unless accompanied by a parent.
Our Sign Language class is offered to children _____ and led by a certified instructor. Volunteers will help participants learn many signs that are commonly used in our every day. We ask that volunteers commit to attending the class each week. If you are unable to attend one of the classes, but would still like to volunteer, please let us know!
Fitness Series
July 9 - Aug 13 (Sun Only)
Down Syndrome Association

Volunteers must be 16 years old, unless accompanied by a parent.
Our Sign Language class is offered to adults age 18 & up and led by a certified instructor. Volunteers will help participants learn new exercises to enhance their physical fitness goals. We ask that volunteers commit to attending the class each week. If you are unable to attend one of the classes, but would still like to volunteer, please let us know!
Adventures with Friends
July 10 - Aug 14 (Mon Only)

6:30 - 7:30 PM
Volunteers must be 16 years old, unless accompanied by a parent.
Adventures with Friends is offered to children ages _____ and led by a certified instructors. Volunteers will help participants learn through reading, physical play and fine motor skill activities. We ask that volunteers commit to attending the class each week. If you are unable to attend one of the classes, but would still like to volunteer, please let us know!
Ice Cream Social
July 9 • Location TBD
3 - 5 PM
Volunteers must be 16 years old, unless accompanied by a parent.
Our Ice Cream Social is for families that have a child with Down syndrome 0 -5 years old. Volunteers are needed to help set-up, distribute ice cream and assist with children so parents can network!
